While we do not like to cancel activities, it is sometimes necessary to do so in order to keep our players safe, and the fields in good condition. The cancellation of both in house and travel program activities, is based on several factors and are usually made in advance of scheduled activities to avoid unnecessary trips to the fields.
First and foremost is the safety of our children. If the weather forecast and /or field conditions are deemed unsafe, all activities will be canceled. We will not place our children in current or projected dangerous weather or playing field conditions that could jeopardize their safety.
In the event of lightening while at the field. Players and parents must immediately move to safety which is most often their cars. Nobody is allowed to return to the field until a minimum of 30 minutes from the last visible or audbile sign of lightning, and only if weather and field conditions have been deemed safe for return to play by the coaches and/or referees.
We will also cancel if the fields would be damaged by using them in their present condition. We are not permitted on the fields when they are wet in an attempt to prevent damage from which they may not recover during the course of the session.
Our board and age group coordinators will work together to only cancel activities when necessary. They will also attempt to schedule make ups when possible based on existing schedules and field availability.
Should a cancellation be necessary, we will make every effort to update the Field Conditions section of our home page. Please help us retain our use of these fields by staying off of them when they are closed.
